On March 8th, in a special election in Illinois’ 14th congressional district, democrat Bill Foster will face off with republican Jim Oberweis in a challenge to win the seat of retired Rep. Dennis Hastert (R). This election will be a public referendum on the Iraq war, as Bill Foster, a nuclear physicist, wants to bring our troops home from Iraq. His opponent, Jim Oberweis, supports the Bush-McCain position that the U.S. should stay in Iraq for another ten years.
